Microscope
183 (Jones
& Co.; Jones’ Excelsior Microscope; early 20th century)
This simple microscope was
manufactured by Jones & Co., from 5 Devonshire Street, Holborn, London,
and was advertised as “Jones’ Excelsior Microscope” (Figure 1). The
instrument should be dated from the very early 20th century. No information
was found about the company beyond the leaflet accompanying the microscope,
where they referred to themselves as “novelty manufacturers”.
